What suggestions do you have to improve the website?
Visitors' suggestions are really important for making Bullying. No way! more useful. Some of the suggestions will be easy, others a little more difficult but over coming months the website team will work on many of these.

Year 3 - 4
- You could have a room where other kids get bullied and they can talk about it.
Year 5 - 6
- You could have a room where other kids get bullied and they can talk about it.

- Have bullying no way come to people's schools.

Year 7 - 8 students
- More ideas on what bullying is and how to deal with it.
- Have some facts about how many people get bullied a year and how many deal with it positively.
- Shut it down very quickly.
- A little more information.

- Strategies on how to cope with bullying.

- More pictures, new ideas and maybe a few games [educational].
- Make a real life simulator of bullying for people.

- Make it more commercialised, not too much - but so more people can read and learn about how much bullying affects other people - and not just the victims.

- Well its good and I would have to think about it. Its a pretty good website.
Year 11 - 12 students
- It's nice to see some serious attention being given to bullying. Yet … it seems to be simply promoting what I call the 'strategy' method - conferences, apology letters, mediation, and a million other methods to avoid actual consequences for the perpetrators. … it would be nice to see a little more emphasis given on the use of actual discipline.
- None, because it's already perfect!
- Have a contact thing in my state/city.
- Make it easier to find a way to paint.
Teachers
- A section in the Chill out space where students could make a picture on the computer and submit it.
- Interactive activities that younger students could participate in.
- More material and resources available to download online.
- School environment issues for students to access.
- Case studies of real life situations so that kids can talk about and help to resolve situations to the best of their ability.
- Work being done with Aboriginal students in Aboriginal community primary schools.
- We'll add some of our works soon. Great to have an authentic audience.
Parents/carers
- A review section where education policy experts discuss how the existing policies and legislation for each state can be applied to bullying.
- Supportive information for students with disabilities.
- Strategies to help students to become more assertive – further steps for the victim to take when all fails.
- 'Support groups' for each state, and some LEGAL information if needed to take it further.
- In 'resources', much is state-specific but you can't always see in the short list of links which state the info link applies to (eg policy documents): nice if you could just put [NSW], [VIC] [QLD] or whatever at the end of the short text blurb for each link.
- Procedures that parents can take to approach bullying by teachers.
- Real life bullying stories.
- Have the age go up to 17/18 year olds.
- Information on the procedures that are meant to be followed when a complaint is made, steps I can take as a parent to stop this happening again and what kind of a resolution I can expect from the school.
- A page for parents would be good, with details of help when the school won't listen.
- A place where parents can write their view.
- History of severe cases of bullying. What are the results of bullying on young children, say 6 year old? Does bullying change the victim's behaviour?
- Exclusion is a form of bullying. Where is the information on that?
- Post relevant information such as the laws on anti-bullying and the repercussion/reprimands on the person who is bullying!
- Being the victim of a 'bully’s' father, I feel there is also a need for this area to be covered.
- I tried to get to the chat but only got a glossary. I tried to find a 'contact us' but couldn't. May I suggest … [getting] the website revamped... This website is too important to let it float in cyberspace and not make it as easy as possible to find.
- I think that for you website to be more effective you should include other resources that are available commercially.
- Change the view details so many different computers can view the pages. To us they look overlapped and written on top of each other.
- Games please.
School leaders/administrators
- Good bullying surveys that can be administered by young students.
- Info that could help Peer Mediators and keep them in touch with ideas and developments.
- Worksheets, background info to help us look at our own school program.
- Links to other sites/research available.
- The programs are listed under resources, but prices and point of order would be great!
- It would be useful to have more areas that are 'fun' and get the message across to students.
- Perhaps some ideas (short) from behaviour experts regarding different ways to handle situations.
- Ideas and examples of how to put Eva Cox's ideas into practice.
- A section for younger students with basic language and more pictures to make it more interactive,
- It needs to reach the 'tough' students who bully in our schools.
- Names of picture books that we can use to promote anti-bullying concepts for Kindergarten to Year 6 students.
Ancillary staff
- I have been using the information from the website to advertise in our school newsletter (Parents Page) each fortnight.
Support services
- A section on lessons and role playing ideas for educators.
- Phone number to get colour posters and stickers
Other respondents
- Handouts and worksheets for groups or individuals.
- Maybe a little irrelevant information on there that at times you seem to have to wade through.
- Young person under stress might miss the best part to help them. Therefore, one thing I think I would change – to help young people find more easily their answers is the Making a Difference link which is currently housed under the Chill Out Space. I would bring this link – ie the Making a Difference Link – to the surface and put it on the front page. It is the most important part of the site for young people who are experience bullying and want to know NOW what to do about it. The link is useful under Chill Out and the information behind it can stay there, but another link should be brought more closely to the surface – perhaps with a different heading (say, for example, Need Help Now!).
- No doubt many things that could be added/adapted in the process of developing (eg. teachers' comments in the forum provide a guide for other things needed).
- Whether students will even identify a lot of their experiences as bullying.
- The 'chill out space' has a lot of good information, ideas and encouragement, but is jargony in places ('Use conflict resolution skills.' as a heading under 'Helping yourself...').
- It may be easier if there was an obvious link called 'What should I do?', with links to the student-friendly parts of the Chill out pages, and to the discussion forums. It could also provide more links to resource web pages on specific issues, such as lesbian and gay support groups, support if you're experiencing violence.
- More information on the actual signs and how it can affect someone's life.
- A section for adults who were bullied at school to tell their story.
- Information that teachers, students and parents can use. Suggestions for people who speak on dealing with school bullying at a school and individual level.
- Site searches don't work very well.
