A team of students wanted to show how bullying affects people who dance, and to challenge the notion of stereotypes about people who want to pursue a career in ballet. "The Dream" gives insight into the issues that young male ballet dancers face with their peers.
Interview
Alison: Why male dancers as a topic?
Andy: People who do dance ballet get paid out quite a bit. We wanted to show this through our mobile movie so everyone can see how it really affects people who dance and want to pursue a career in ballet. That's not a bad thing. It's actually quite a good thing. Of course they have girls in their class too .which is another good thing!
Alison: Yes, male dancers have a very nice time I think. Now, you obviously made the actual video when you went back to school. Did you have that idea planned beforehand or did it come out of the workshop?
Andy: It came out of thinking about things at the workshop. Now, well we're going to show it at our assembly as well.
