Where to now?
Australian school communities are embracing opportunities to talk out, engage with and challenge the issues of bullying, harassment, discrimination and violence. We can see these improvements.
- School communities are talking about the issues and developing shared
understanding of the underlying factors that maintain these behaviours.
- School communities in every state, territory and education sector are
designing innovative, local-level, whole-school initiatives.
- Legislation and policies are in place that raise awareness of the many
forms of harassment and discrimination.
- Research is creating an evidence base for action.
But school communities need to be able to tell how their situation is improving and by how much. How can we measure such intangibles as support, trust and acceptance?
