Ideas for the classroom

These ideas for addressing bullying-related issues follow a cycle of investigation (what's going on?), reflection (think about it), and planning and action (make a difference). These are informed by community of inquiry and participatory action research approaches. Learn more about these approaches by clicking on the cycle symbol in the right side bar on any page.

This approach also aligns with building, knowing and managing as described in the Bullying. No way! Strategy map

The ideas are sequenced to allow a choice of one or more from each phase. Ideas can be adapted for different levels however please take care with the use of language and examples. For younger children you may wish to use terms other than bullying.

Bystander behaviour

Ideas for developing understanding about the role of bystanders and foster the 'courage of the non-conformist', to address bullying, harassment and violence.
